Requiem: Music Album Cover

Trying some new ideas for projects in my painting classes. I landed on designing cover art for music albums. Everyone has their music preferences and I need an example to teach with, so here is an example of a metal album cover.

Lily White Sketchbook

It's been rewarding to return to my bookbinding. The same can be said for monochromatic line-art illustration. It's a cozy and familiar feeling, which is appropriate for the month of December.

Surreal Portrait

There's something about drawing that gets me into a flow state that is not as easily done with other mediums. Charcoal, in particular, brings me back to when I was just starting out. Life was simpler and time was irrelevant.

Maleficent’s Curse

Back in 2015, I attempted to draw the Disney Castle for a chalk festival. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time and I couldn't finish. This year, I revisited the concept, did it with help and with a style that fits me better.

Ram Skull

I can't tell you how much I miss using charcoal, it's such an amazing (and messy) medium. This was for a class, but I liked it so well I put more effort into refining it. Happy Halloween!

The reason behind drawing a spooky, scary skeleton is posted here with this picture's partner: Pelvis

I like this idea of posting my cards on breast cancer awareness month, October. If you love your ta-ta's please take good care of them. Just like any cancer it can be fatal if it's not taken care of in time. Check to make sure they are healthy. The warriors I've met that have fought or are fighting cancer keep up their hopes up.

Also, I'm so excited for Halloween! It's my favorite holiday and my favorite time of the year. I'm so excited!

Pelvis

What better way to start off The Halloween season than by posting spooky, scary skeleton pictures. My Drawing II class wanted us to draw some lineart and practice our smoke effects by using powdered graphite mixed in water. It's similar to water coloring, but way messier. We could draw whatever we wanted and I wanted to draw our lovely skeleton model, Zelda, from the figure studio.

Hallway

Another project for school is to draw a picture only with line art and to emphasize one part. Well this is me when I still had long hair in front of a painting in the front room. The one thing I chose to emphasize was the mask I wore. I am really proud of this.

Mirror

More art from my school. I'm now working on my concentration and this is the second piece. A concentration is a collection of pieces of art based around one theme using one medium on one canvas and so on. My theme is mask and my art principle is everything is line art, but one this is emphasised with color and the emphasis is always going to be the mask.

Reading

An art assignment was to do a midtone picture in perspective. When I was assigned this, I thought It would be fun to make my breadth/concentration theme masks. That would be fun. I wanted extreme perspective, but my chest covered up the foreshortened features of my body so I made do with what I had. This is me in a mask.

Jewelry Box

For my AP Art I had to pick 2 contradicting objects called juxtaposition and take a picture and draw them. This is a simple ball of yarn I have and my Phantom of the Opera jewelry box. I added and subtracted some details, but I thought it would be fun to draw it. This is drawn with charcoal.
